petrol saving tips for your car?

Does anyone have some good ideas/driving styles for an automatic? If i rev to highly do I use more petrol than usuall?
I mean between gears, if im going 20-30ks but it revs up to 2000+ is that a bad thing fuel wise? I know if you accelrate its chews more juice, obviously, but better to avoid going past that mark?

Don't accelerate highly – of course that uses more gas! Keep your car in good working order, keep your tire pressure proper, don't speed. I use cruise control for alot of driving so my speed does not vary and I don't use the gas pedal as often. No need to warm your car up for 10 minutes when the weather is cold.

Accelerate slowly, drive slowly, keep tires fully inflated, get a tuneup, and coast to a stop rather than braking.

And of course you use more gas if you rev it highly.

And actually, driving with constant pressure on the gas pedal is better than using the cruise control to keep the car at a constant speed. Cruise control really goes through a lot of gas when going up hill.

On a cross-country trip, automotive experts found that you save more gas if you go slowly, seldom use your brakes, coast to stops, and gas up only in the evening. All of this is difficult to do.

You call it petrol. We call it gas. By any name, it is too expensive and so necessary.
